Tortworth Court Wedding Photographer – Issy & Neil

A blustery day for Issy and Neil’s wedding; the ceremony was held at Tortworth Church followed by a reception at Tortworth Court.  The day didn’t start too well for Chris (nothing wedding related I hasten to add!) as England were playing France in the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup and the result was very disappointing.  After the ceremony, Issy & Neil had requested some photos by the seated stone memorial at the back of the church, the bruised skies and cotswold stone provided a dramatic backdrop. Tortworth’s gardens looked very autumnal with gorgeous oranges, yellows and greens.  The Orangery Read More

Helen & Mycroft’s Wedding – Winkworth Farm

Chris and I never take motorways on the day of weddings, it’s too much of a risk getting caught in a traffic jam so we left early and ‘bumped’ along the beautiful country lanes to Winkworth Farm.  Helen & Mycroft were hoping to get married outside in the Roundhouse but the good old British weather wasn’t playing ball, so their ceremony was inside the converted barn.  Afterwards, guests sipped on Pimms with brightly coloured straws and with blue skies and sunshine emerging, everyone enjoyed the beautiful gardens.  The autumn colours were showing in the rose garden and we took some Read More

Berkeley Castle – Open Evening

We were invited to exhibit at Berkeley Castle for their open evening recently. It was a lovely evening and couples enjoyed tours around the castle and gardens.  We’ve had a couple of weddings at Berkeley recently and after lots of interest at the fayre, we already have another couple of bookings there.   Berkeley Castle is an amazing wedding venue, steeped in history, with beautiful gardens.  Check out our posts for Natalie & Jon and Tracey & Ross for our most recent weddings there. Natalie & Ted’s Wedding – The Swan Hotel, Bibury

Natalie & Ted celebrated their wedding at The Swan Hotel in Bibury, a beautiful Cotswold venue.  Natalie and her bridesmaids got ready in the cottages which was a lot of fun and as Nat had told me she wasn’t a ‘girlie girl’, I was amazed to see her dressed in a beautiful Benjamin Roberts gown, a real fairytale dress with tulle overlay.  We made full use of the beautiful surroundings, with lots of photographs on the bridge overlooking the river.  The foreign tourists were out in force, the Japanese particularly loving a white wedding and Natalie & Ted were very Read More

Kingscote Barn Photographer – Kirsty & Nick

I dropped Chris off at Kingscote Barn to photograph the groom’s party and went to Kirsty’s house to capture the excitement of the girls getting ready.  A bottle of Veuve Clicquot was popped and the celebrations commenced and although I was offered a glass of bubbly, I thought I had better politely refuse at this stage.  Kirsty wore a beautiful, couture organza & silk gown by Kate Sherford, which together with her full length veil, flowed beautifully in the breeze.  At the Barn, the ‘big’ games were put to good use by the guests, including the Bride’s Grandfather playing Jenga with Read More

Helen & Mycroft – Pre-Wedding Shoot

We met Helen & Mycroft at Winkworth Farm to do their pre-wedding shoot and finalise the details of their wedding at the end of September.  We were greeted by a field of sunflowers; the huge yellow flowers swaying in the breeze were such a beautiful sight.  Helen & Myc were rather nervous about having their photos taken (naturally so, who isn’t!) but we took some great shots, I particularly like the ones by the straw bales.   Read More

Jo & James’ Wedding – The Bay Tree Hotel

The weather forecast had been right for once: rain, rain and more rain.  Thankfully, The Bay Tree Hotel in Burford is such a great venue with so many nooks and crannies for indoor photos.  The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the guests and the bridal party were very relaxed when we arrived: it wasn’t long before the champagne corks were popping.  Is this a good time to mention the blue sticking plaster worn by Andy (father of the bride) on his injured thumb? Ummm maybe not …….. but it kept appearing in all the photos!!  Jo looked stunning, wearing a beautiful gown Read More

Victoria & Phillip’s Wedding – St Audries Park

Victoria & Phill celebrated their wedding at an amazing venue, St Audries Park in Somerset, with fantastic views over the Quantock Hills and Bristol Channel.  Victoria & Phil held their ceremony in the Orangery, a beautiful, light, airy room.  Afterwards, the sun finally came out, “hooray”! and guests enjoyed sipping Cosmopolitan cocktails which gave us great opportunities to ‘pap’ away: ladies in ‘lush hats’, games of croquet and of course, the men in their top hats.  We took Victoria & Phil off for some romantic shots in front of a beautiful golden corn field: amazing photos!  Before the wedding breakfast, Read More

Mel & Dave’s Wedding – Kingscote Barn

Mel & Dave had planned a relaxed wedding in the beautiful surroundings of Kingscote Barn.  We had met Mel & Dave a few times in the run up to the wedding and I think they have to be the most romantic couple we have photographed so far this year.  Mel’s skill as an art teacher was obvious judging by the the decorations in the barn and the 88 place settings: charicatures of the guests that she had painted in watercolours.  These were absolutely amazing and caused a lot of excitement as the guests compared their sketches.  Marmite jars were used Read More

Natasha & Stewart’s Wedding – Hatherley Manor

How many churches does Gloucester have?  Thank goodness we knew where we were going!  First stop was the bride’s house which was buzzing with excitement, Natasha had 3 bridesmaids & 3 pageboys all under the age of 12!  Natasha wore a beautiful silk ivory gown with ruffled skirt and her sister, Tracey, made light work of lacing up the bodice: this can sometimes be trickier than it looks!  Chris went off to photograph Stewart and the groom’s party at St Barnabas Church and I love the photograph Chris took of the rings on the bible. Just before the service commenced, Read More

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photographers – Tracey & Ross

Tracey & Ross celebrated their wedding at one of our favourite venues, Berkeley Castle, an amazing castle steeped in history, overlooking the Severn and the Welsh Borders.  First stop was Tortworth Court where both the bride and groom were getting ready.  Chris photographed the groom’s party, which included a quick visit to the bar and later some photos on the gun terrace at the castle.  Meanwhile, I was kept entertained by the four bridesmaids who were re-enacting a scene from ‘Blue Peter’ making a stand for the confetti cones.  They seemed to use everything except ‘sticky backed plastic’, a great Read More

Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographer – Jo & Ed

Jo & Ed celebrated their wedding at Kingscote Barn, a venue which we love with spectacular views whatever the season.  Jo arrived in a 1929 Vintage Cadillac, an amazing car and driven by Steve, who is always so friendly and keeps the car immaculate.  A friend of the family was playing the piano as Jo entered the ceremony room, it was all very emotional and out came the hankies to dab away the tears.  One of the readings was an excerpt from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin which made a lovely change.  We took some fabulous photos of Jo and Ed walking Read More
