Mel & Dave’s Wedding – Kingscote Barn

Mel & Dave had planned a relaxed wedding in the beautiful surroundings of Kingscote Barn.  We had met Mel & Dave a few times in the run up to the wedding and I think they have to be the most romantic couple we have photographed so far this year.  Mel’s skill as an art teacher was obvious judging by the the decorations in the barn and the 88 place settings: charicatures of the guests that she had painted in watercolours.  These were absolutely amazing and caused a lot of excitement as the guests compared their sketches.  Marmite jars were used as flower vases, I won’t even try to explain that one!  Dave is a keen mountaineer so the tables were named after the most sought after peaks of the world, however, Dave has yet to conquer Everest.  During the ceremony, Dave’s sisters, Jenny and Nicky, gave a moving reading “Marriage Fulfills the Dreams and Love Two People Share” by Glenda Wilm.  Mel’s hair was intricately woven with flowers and a real masterpiece, thanks to Sharon (Truly Gorgeous) as it didn’t move in the breeze.

“It’s hard to summarise what a fantastic wedding day we had, but the smiles, love, laughter and happiness that you and Chris were able to capture so beautifully with your amazing photographs will always be a wonderful record of our day. You both put so much thought and care into the picture composition and into making us feel relaxed throughout the day and this is evident in the range of informal shots your took. Our only problem will be choosing which photo’s will make the album! We particularly loved the photo’s in the rose garden and during the speeches. Thank you both for providing us with such a wonderful memento of our very special day!”
