Tortworth Court Wedding Photographer – Kathy & Mike

It was lovely to see Kathy & Mike again after doing their pre-wedding shoot in April.  The couple had flown over from Chicago for their wedding and it was lovely to see that so many friends and family had flown over to celebrate with them.  As a surprise, especially for the American guests, an old fashioned red London bus was used to ferry the guests to the ceremony.  Kathy & Mike were married at the Methodist Church in Thornbury and held their reception at Tortworth Court.  Although the rain had held off, it was blowing a gale and poor Kathy Read More

The Mansion House & Riverstation Wedding Photographer – Charlotte & Simon

Charlotte & Simon had chosen two very different venues to celebrate their wedding in Bristol: The Mansion House in Clifton, with its Victorian grandeur and the Riverstation; a vibrant restaurant with wonderful views of the harbour.  Charlotte was getting ready at a local hotel and on arrival, we found the lifts out of order so we had to climb 12 flights of steps, thank goodness our recent holiday in St Ives had involved lots cliff walking!  Leesa Goodway’s makeup looked very natural and it was nice to find that Leesa is very local to where we live.  Charlotte looked beautiful Read More

The Bishop’s Palace Wedding Photographer – Gemma & Russell

Gemma & Russell were married in the picturesque Somerset village of West Lydford.  You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic church: next to a river with a weeping willow and reached by crossing an old, stone bridge.  After the ceremony and a few photographs, guests made their way to The Bishop’s Palace for the reception and we chose to follow the two 1929 Vintage Austin Heavy Burnham cars (Tilly & Lilly from Memories Forever and with a top speed of 37mph!) through the winding narrow lanes.  After chatting with their guests and enjoying a glass of bubbly, we took Gemma Read More

Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographers – Jo & Simon

Jo & Simon’s wedding was fun, fun, fun!  It was an early start for us as Chris was covering the groom’s party getting ready (including a giant game of chess!) at the Cotswold Water Park and I was taking photos of the girls getting ready at one of our favourite venues, Kingscote Barn.  Simon and his guests arrived on a red double decker bus, one of the old fashioned type with the open back and pole to grab hold of, providing some great photographic opportunities.  After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on the terrace whilst others played Read More

Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographer – Rachel & Alex

What can I say about Rachel & Alex’s wedding day…… well apart from being a lovely day, it was very, very, wet!  Apparently April 2012 was the wettest April on record and we definitely agree with that!  Rachel & Alex had chosen Kingscote Barn because of the amazing views across the Cotswold countryside but all we were greeted with was torrential rain, high winds and mist!  Saying that, we had a great day and everyone forgot about the dreary weather outside and family & guests celebrated Rachel & Alex’s wedding in the comfort of the barn.  We took most of Read More

The Bath Spa Hotel Wedding Photographer – Elizabeth & Jules

On arrival at the Bath Spa Hotel, we were greeted by two very excited little bridesmaids, Rosie & Martha who just couldn’t wait to get into their pretty little dresses.  Elizabeth looked amazing in a Caroline Castigliano dress and Di Hassall’s vintage inspired embroidered shoes with organza ribbon.  As the bridal party waited nervously in the church entrance, the St Edmund’s School Chamber Choir sang ‘Love Divine’.  Elizabeth, arm in arm with her father, walked down the aisle to a ‘Fanfare and Wedding March’ composed by Jules especially for his beautiful bride.  With three choirs in the church, the singing Read More

Birtsmorton Court

We were invited to the Press Open Day at Birtsmorton Court, one of our favourite venues.  The theme was ‘the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ and with canapés, bubbly, jam tarts with tea and an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed Treasure Hunt, it was a great day enjoyed by all.   For couples looking for a wedding venue steeped in history, look no further than this Medieval, moated manor house with its drawbridge leading into a secluded courtyard, 16th Century Great Hall boasting a large open fireplace, timbered walls, and a beautiful William & Mary ceiling.  After their ceremony, couples can enjoy a Read More

Kathy & Mike – Pre-wedding shoot

Kathy & Mike were over from Chicago to go through the final arrangements for their wedding and we combined their visit to the UK with a pre-wedding shoot at Tortworth Court.  After a nervous start, they were soon laughing and although the clouds were looking rather dark, the sun put in an appearance and the jackets were ditched.  Tortworth has some lovely grounds and it was nice to have a walk around in the Spring sunshine and get to know Kathy & Mike better. The Bay Tree Hotel Wedding Photographers – Julie & Tom

The wedding season is upon us and it was lovely to kick it off with Julie & Tom’s, a very happy couple who didn’t stop smiling and laughing all day.  We love photographing weddings at The Bay Tree, a beautiful 16th Century Inn set in the Cotswolds so it was a great day for us too.  Julie & Tom arranged their whole wedding from New Zealand; what a challenge that must have been! It was lovely to see that so many friends had flown over to celebrate with them.  The couple had hoped to hold their ceremony outside but after Read More

The Hare & Hounds Hotel, Westonbirt Wedding Photographer – Laura & Johnny

Laura & Johnny were hoping for a gin blue sky, frosty winter wedding but were greeted with high winds and grey skies but this didn’t dampen their spirits.  Laura looked stunning in her elegant Ritva Westenius dress and when she walked down the aisle of the church, Johnny was beaming with pride.  Their reception was held at The Hare & Hounds Hotel at Westonbirt; a favourite place for us as we often frequent the bar after a walk in the nearby arboretum.  Guests enjoyed mulled wine and canapés whilst we took Laura & Johnny off outside for some photos in Read More

Laura & Johnny – Pre-Wedding Shoot

We met Laura & Johnny at The Hare & Hounds to do their pre-wedding shoot and finalise the details of their wedding between Christmas & the New Year.  Laura & Johnny admitted to being a little nervous and claimed that the photos they usually have of themselves never look very good.  We were laughing right from the start and they quickly relaxed, we took pictures inside and out and I think you will agree, they are great photos.  Now that Laura and Johnny have seen their pics and love them, they will feel more relaxed having Chris and me as Read More

Claire & Colin’s Wedding – The Carbis Bay Hotel, St Ives

Colin & Claire celebrated their wedding in the conservatory at The Carbis Bay Hotel, overlooking the sea.  We often holiday in St Ives and we jumped at the chance when the couple asked us to be their photographers, another excuse for a few days by the sea!  We awoke on the morning of the wedding to rain and high winds, but the sun came out and the bay was sheltered from the wind: it was unseasonably warm for November.  The conservatory was decked out in beautiful flowers from Flowertime and after the very moving ceremony, family & friends enjoyed sipping Read More
