Berkeley Castle Wedding Photographers – Lizzie & Neil

We can plan for most things except the weather and, it would appear road works!  Like those which appeared the day before Lizzie & Neil’s wedding right outside Lizzie’s parents’ house.  So we had diggers, traffic cones, lights, signs and one way traffic to contend with.  Thankfully, Lizzie’s parents were on the case and when Lizzie was ready to leave, the helpful workmen cleared an area beside the house, turned both sets of traffic lights onto red so that Lizzie could cross the road to get into her wedding car and set off for her fairytale wedding at Berkeley Castle.  Read More

Berkeley Castle Weddings – Kate & John

Berkeley Castle Weddings.  Kate & John held their wedding at Berkeley Castle, one of our favourite venues and just up the road from us.  Kate was early for the ceremony, that’s so unusual but so very welcome as we were able to capture some lovely, relaxed moments in the courtyard.  Some guests however, were not quite so punctual!  Kate looked stunning in a San Patrick satin gown with beaded straps and asymmetric ruched bodice adorned with unique appliqué down the side.  There were few funny moments in the ceremony, I won’t embarrass John but some of the wording was changed Read More

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photographers – Claire & Chris

Claire & Chris were married at Woodchester Priory, a beautiful church high on a hill in Nailsworth. The groom’s party wore kilts and as it was very windy day, all the girls were just wondering ‘what if the wind just whipped up a bit more?’  But it didn’t although I was ready with the camera!  After the ceremony, Claire & Chris were driven to Berkeley Castle in a 1929 Vintage Cadillac, an amazing car driven by Steve, who is always so friendly and keeps the car immaculate.  Berkeley Castle is amazing and steeped in history: one of our favourite venues.  Read More

The Bishop’s Palace Wedding Photographer – Gemma & Russell

Gemma & Russell were married in the picturesque Somerset village of West Lydford.  You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic church: next to a river with a weeping willow and reached by crossing an old, stone bridge.  After the ceremony and a few photographs, guests made their way to The Bishop’s Palace for the reception and we chose to follow the two 1929 Vintage Austin Heavy Burnham cars (Tilly & Lilly from Memories Forever and with a top speed of 37mph!) through the winding narrow lanes.  After chatting with their guests and enjoying a glass of bubbly, we took Gemma Read More

Birtsmorton Court

We were invited to the Press Open Day at Birtsmorton Court, one of our favourite venues.  The theme was ‘the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ and with canapés, bubbly, jam tarts with tea and an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed Treasure Hunt, it was a great day enjoyed by all.   For couples looking for a wedding venue steeped in history, look no further than this Medieval, moated manor house with its drawbridge leading into a secluded courtyard, 16th Century Great Hall boasting a large open fireplace, timbered walls, and a beautiful William & Mary ceiling.  After their ceremony, couples can enjoy a Read More

Berkeley Castle – Open Evening

We were invited to exhibit at Berkeley Castle for their open evening recently. It was a lovely evening and couples enjoyed tours around the castle and gardens.  We’ve had a couple of weddings at Berkeley recently and after lots of interest at the fayre, we already have another couple of bookings there.   Berkeley Castle is an amazing wedding venue, steeped in history, with beautiful gardens.  Check out our posts for Natalie & Jon and Tracey & Ross for our most recent weddings there. Berkeley Castle Wedding – Natalie & Jon

After atrocious weather the day before, everyone breathed a sigh of relief to see the sun shining for Natalie & Jon’s Berkeley Castle Wedding.  Taking photos of Natalie and her bridesmaids was so easy as everyone was very relaxed and her Dad helped with the lacing of the bodice, a lovely touch.  Natalie wore a beautiful ivory duchess satin dress with rosettes and pleated bodice, she looked stunning, certainly the right dress for Berkeley Castle.  Getting married in such an amazing venue, means you need a big dress!  Her bridesmaid wore primrose coloured dresses, such a refreshing colour and to Read More

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photographers – Tracey & Ross

Tracey & Ross celebrated their wedding at one of our favourite venues, Berkeley Castle, an amazing castle steeped in history, overlooking the Severn and the Welsh Borders.  First stop was Tortworth Court where both the bride and groom were getting ready.  Chris photographed the groom’s party, which included a quick visit to the bar and later some photos on the gun terrace at the castle.  Meanwhile, I was kept entertained by the four bridesmaids who were re-enacting a scene from ‘Blue Peter’ making a stand for the confetti cones.  They seemed to use everything except ‘sticky backed plastic’, a great Read More
