Baby Bump Photography – Mary

I had a lovely time with Mary recently, photographing her baby bump.  It was a nippy December day so I made sure the studio was nice and toasty.  Although Mary admitted that she wasn’t a model, she had a great time.  I love to work with shadow & light in relaxed surroundings to give a variety of different moods to the photos: here are a few of my favourites.  For more details of pregnancy and newborn photo sessions, please contact Gillian. This is what Mary said to her friends about her recent session “Just had my ‘bump’ photo session. Quite Read More

Westonbirt Arboretum Photography – Lily

I had a lovely time photographing Lily at Westonbirt Arboretum recently.  I wanted to capture the fun that children have when they go in search of different coloured leaves.  They come in all shapes and sizes, wet, dry, soggy, muddy (the leaves that is!) and all are stuffed into that bag to be taken home for that all important task of making a collage…… or maybe not!  I took some beautiful photos of Lily doing just that, gathering leaves and here are a few of my favourites.   Read More

Portrait Shoot – Eli

We photographed Naomi & Chris’ wedding at Tortworth Court a few of years ago and the couple have just celebrated the birth of their son, Eli.  They had no hesitation in asking us to take professional photos and I am so pleased they did, as it was lovely to catch up over a cup of coffee.  We had a lovely relaxed time, Eli was as good as gold as we took photos of a proud Mum & Dad holding their precious little bundle.  It also looks like Eli is getting ready for his first Christmas! If you are interested in Read More

Westonbirt Arboretum Photography

We’ve visited Westonbirt Arboretum many times in the last few weeks, capturing the autumn colours in photos.  As members and recommended wedding photographers for this venue, we go at all times of the year including the cold, bleak winter months, when there are hardly any visitors.  At this busy time of the year, every day looks so very different and with beautiful colours: golds, reds, purples and yellows. Not only do we like photographing leaves and trees, Chris loves photographing mushrooms and I don’t think you can beat a bit of colourful ‘leaf litter’!  After a nice long walk, there Read More

Wyck Hill House Hotel Wedding Photographer – Cherith & Rob

We haven’t had the opportunity of photographing a wedding at Wyck Hill House before so we were really looking forward to Cherith & Rob’s special day.  Cherith’s bridesmaids, Linda & Maddie, had the timing off to a tee and had even saved the instructions on how to lace up the back of the dress on a mobile phone. The couple got married at St Lawrence’s Church in the picturesque Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water and we were greeted by a very relaxed vicar who gave an excellent sermon and who compared marriage to dancing and even squeezed a reference to ‘Strictly Read More

Tortworth Court Wedding Photographer – Kelly & Gareth

The weather was amazing for April, such glorious sunshine.  Kelly and Gareth got married at the lovely hill top church in Old Sodbury: the views were spectacular.  Kelly arrived with her father in an open-topped car and emerged wearing a Justin Alexander dress, with layer upon layer of white tulle, the top layer being scattered with sequins and the silk bodice encrusted in Swarovski crystals.  Kelly wanted to look like a princess and she certainly did that!  Tortworth Court was the location for their reception and guests were greeted with sparkling, blue champagne to complement with their colour scheme.  We Read More

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photographers – Claire & Chris

Claire & Chris were married at Woodchester Priory, a beautiful church high on a hill in Nailsworth. The groom’s party wore kilts and as it was very windy day, all the girls were just wondering ‘what if the wind just whipped up a bit more?’  But it didn’t although I was ready with the camera!  After the ceremony, Claire & Chris were driven to Berkeley Castle in a 1929 Vintage Cadillac, an amazing car driven by Steve, who is always so friendly and keeps the car immaculate.  Berkeley Castle is amazing and steeped in history: one of our favourite venues.  Read More

The Manor House, Moreton-in-Marsh Wedding Photographers – Rebekah & Tim

It was lovely to see Rebekah & Tim again after doing their pre-wedding shoot in May.  Back then, we had an evening with beautiful, warm sunshine and now after all the rain of recent weeks, what did the weather have in store for us today?  The couple had chosen the Manor House Hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh to celebrate their wedding and were hoping for an outside ceremony but with dark clouds looming on the horizon, this was a switched to inside.  Afterwards, guests enjoyed Pimm’s in the gardens whilst we whisked Rebekah & Tim off for some quiet time in the Read More

Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographers – Jessica & Martyn

We awoke to another wet day!  However, Jessica & Martyn were not going to let a ‘little’ rain spoil their special day, celebrating their wedding at Kingscote Barn, a venue which we love with its spectacular views.  So much thought had gone into the little touches: vintage name signs, candles, a huge mirror as a table plan, bunting, wishing trees, we had great fun photographing everything.  Jessica looked stunning in a gown from the Enzoani ‘s Blue collection: embroidered lace with a soft overlay of tulle and ruched bodice.  Jessica wore a precious stone and Swarovski crystal halter neck piece Read More

Tortworth Court Wedding Photographer – Kathy & Mike

It was lovely to see Kathy & Mike again after doing their pre-wedding shoot in April.  The couple had flown over from Chicago for their wedding and it was lovely to see that so many friends and family had flown over to celebrate with them.  As a surprise, especially for the American guests, an old fashioned red London bus was used to ferry the guests to the ceremony.  Kathy & Mike were married at the Methodist Church in Thornbury and held their reception at Tortworth Court.  Although the rain had held off, it was blowing a gale and poor Kathy Read More

The Mansion House & Riverstation Wedding Photographer – Charlotte & Simon

Charlotte & Simon had chosen two very different venues to celebrate their wedding in Bristol: The Mansion House in Clifton, with its Victorian grandeur and the Riverstation; a vibrant restaurant with wonderful views of the harbour.  Charlotte was getting ready at a local hotel and on arrival, we found the lifts out of order so we had to climb 12 flights of steps, thank goodness our recent holiday in St Ives had involved lots cliff walking!  Leesa Goodway’s makeup looked very natural and it was nice to find that Leesa is very local to where we live.  Charlotte looked beautiful Read More

The Hare & Hounds Hotel, Westonbirt Wedding Photographer – Laura & Johnny

Laura & Johnny were hoping for a gin blue sky, frosty winter wedding but were greeted with high winds and grey skies but this didn’t dampen their spirits.  Laura looked stunning in her elegant Ritva Westenius dress and when she walked down the aisle of the church, Johnny was beaming with pride.  Their reception was held at The Hare & Hounds Hotel at Westonbirt; a favourite place for us as we often frequent the bar after a walk in the nearby arboretum.  Guests enjoyed mulled wine and canapés whilst we took Laura & Johnny off outside for some photos in Read More
