We can plan for most things except the weather and, it would appear road works! Like those which appeared the day before Lizzie & Neil’s wedding right outside Lizzie’s parents’ house. So we had diggers, traffic cones, lights, signs and one way traffic to contend with. Thankfully, Lizzie’s parents were on the case and when Lizzie was ready to leave, the helpful workmen cleared an area beside the house, turned both sets of traffic lights onto red so that Lizzie could cross the road to get into her wedding car and set off for her fairytale wedding at Berkeley Castle. Thankfully, everything else went according to plan, even the weather behaved itself. Lizzie had a beautiful Sassy Holford gown with an ivory beaded & embroidered tulle bodice, silk organza skirt with a duchesse satin sash & bow. She looked stunning and as a little boy announced very loudly during a key moment in the ceremony, she looked like a princess! We had noticed lots of beautiful antique clocks in the family home: a hobby of her Dad’s so with this in mind we took a lovely photo of his pocket watch resting on her bouquet, a nice reminder of what time Lizzie left for her wedding. The ceremony & reception were being held at one of our favourite venues, Berkeley Castle. After a small ceremony in the Great Hall, guests enjoyed drinks on the gun terrace and played giant jenga and chess while we whisked Lizzie & Neil off around the gardens for some romantic photos. Lizzie & Neil have to be one of the shyest couples we have ever photographed but we made sure they soon relaxed. The fountain and steps always make amazing backdrops for photos and with them giggling, laughing and sharing moments of their day together, it was easy to get some lovely photos. Rather than a full wedding breakfast, afternoon tea and cake was served, it looked yummy!
