Caswell House Wedding – Becky & Phil

Do we still get excited about photographing weddings – yes we do!  This was our first Caswell House Wedding and having spent a couple of really fun hours with Becky & Chris during their engagement shoot last Autumn, we anticipated a great day and we were not disappointed. A large bridal suite meant plenty of space for Becky to get into her stunning Justin Alexander gown (remind me, Sue & Emma how many times did the underskirt get adjusted?). Becky’s parents were bursting with pride and the emotions on the faces of the bridesmaids as they saw her in her Read More

Kingscote Barn Wedding – Outdoor Ceremony

We were really looking forward to Katy & Graeme’s Kingscote Barn Wedding and with gin blue skies and not a whisp of cloud to be seen, the couple had opted for an outdoor ceremony. Katy & Graeme had booked us at the Kingscote Barn Open Day, no fussing, booked, done and dusted.  Over the year, I had corresponded with Katie and it is always lovely to be part of a couple’s special day and see all the personal touches come together.  This is what Chris and I love about being wedding photographers; we capture the whole day, the little bits, the Read More

Cripps Barn – Two Photographers

Couples getting married at Cripps Barn often ask the question “why should we invest in two photographers ?” Hopefully, by seeing the set of images below, you will see the benefits of booking Chris and me to photograph your wedding and see how we shoot in completely different ways even when covering the same scene.  Having a husband and wife team that work together all the time has tremendous benefits over a single photographer or a photographer who relies on assistants.  We always work together and know where each other is at any given time during the day and by working Read More

Kingscote Barn – Katie & Nathan’s Winter Wedding

Chris & I were very excited to be returning to Kingscote Barn for the umpteenth time, this time for the Winter Wedding of Katie & Nathan. I headed for Wills Cottage and Chris went to the Barn to photograph the groom’s party and guests arriving. I was greeted by Katie and her bridesmaids dressed in matching blue PJ’s, drinking champagne and the smell of bacon wafting down the drive. Toby, the resident farm dog and I had the same idea, ummmm bacon sarnies and although I was offered one, I declined and poor Toby was just left licking his lips, Read More

Lucky Sixpence

Not sure which shoe to put your lucky sixpence in?  The sixpence has been associated with weddings since the reign of Elizabeth I.  In those times the Lord of the Manor where the bride lived would often present a sixpence as a wedding gift.  As time passed the tradition changed and it became the custom for the bride’s parents to give the coin as a dowry gift. However, it was not until Victorian times that the present day custom evolved to that of giving a silver sixpence as a lucky charm to bring wealth and happiness to the married couple. Read More

Elmore Court

Chris & I love photographing weddings at different venues and Elmore Court ticks all the boxes for us.  This unique venue overlooks the River Severn, dates back to the 1580’s and oozes history and charm.  The main ceremony room has a large, stained glass window and we were lucky enough to visit when the sun was streaming through providing us with a beautiful colour show.  Guests can stay at Elmore Court and with a huge bridal suite, there is plenty of room for the bride and her party to get ready and even more room for photos.  I loved the ‘Downton Abbey’ Read More

Cripps Barn Wedding – Vicki & Chris

What a great day to get married at Cripps Barn: our wedding anniversary! We’ve photographed a couple of weddings on previous anniversaries and it was lovely to share Vicki & Chris’ special day. Vicki’s bouquet contained her Grandmother’s favourite flower; a Scabious, it was lovely to see this personal touch of remembrance and the bridesmaids’ dresses, flowers and cake all reflected the colour scheme of shades of lavender. Vicki’s sister, Claire had made the cake and it was decorated with sugared Grape Hyacinths. The couple’s Jack Russell Terrier, Rufus was keen to have his back massaged whilst Vicki was having Read More

Kingscote Barn – Father & Daughter

Chris was already in the ceremony room at Kingscote Barn taking photos of a nervous Nathan when I captured this beautiful moment showing Katie & her Dad just before they walked down the aisle.  It’s always very important that the bride and groom take a few minutes out of their busy day to just ‘take it all in’ and Katie looks like she is doing just that.   So…… pause, relax and enjoy. Teepee Wedding

Thinking of having a Teepee for your wedding reception?  Olivia and Andrew were married at Farleigh Hungerford Castle and held their wedding reception in Teepees in the grounds of Guyers House, Corsham.  The Teepees, with their open log fires, twinkling lights and long tables dressed with beautiful floral displays and candles, created a truly magical atmosphere on a very blustery, cold Winter’s day. Please take a look at our portfolio page to see more of our work.  Teepees through World Inspired Tents Read More

Berkeley Castle – Viewed through our lens

Chris and I had a great time exhibiting at the Berkeley Castle ‘Inspiration Day’ at the weekend.  Couples and their families were introduced to suppliers who had been handpicked (yes that’s us!) for their superb quality and wonderful service.  After a very busy day, I decided to take myself off around the grounds to take some more unusual photos of the Castle, its Grounds and Knobs and Knockers.  It was a gloomy January day and many of the images lend themselves to some beautiful black and white photography.  We love weddings at Berkeley but we also love photographing nature, wildlife and landscapes.  If you’d Read More
