Matara Wedding Photographer – Jo & Ali

We love working up the road at Matara, it is a unique wedding venue in the heart of the Cotswolds.  With Matara’s tranquil and originally designed gardens, Jo & Ali wanted their wedding to be a relaxed, fun affair.  They had arranged to stay the night prior to their wedding in the beautiful Regency House, which meant when we arrived to capture the excitement of the day, guests were already getting in the swing.  Jo looked fabulous in a vintage mocha chic gown by Rembo Styling, with pearl & lace detail on a sweeping neckline and an amazing train with ivory netting: it looked amazing.  Jo & Ali held their official ceremony in the cloistered courtyard, a beautiful setting with an ornamental pond and this was to be followed by a blessing later in the evening.  Whilst guests enjoyed Pimms (ahhhh, has summer arrived?), Jo & Ali were keen to wander around the gardens which meant some great photo opportunities for us.  Whilst they wandered, the young children dashed around at top speed exploring their new surroundings and hidden paths.  As part of their day, Jo & Ali personalised their marriage by planting a cherry tree in the grounds and guests were invited to tie ribbons on the branches with their good wishes.

In the evening, guests were gathered in the spiral stone circle as Jo & Ali wished to stamp their own individuality to the day.  They had requested a spiritual blessing where they respected the 4 elements: earth, water, air & fire and these elements were represented by a hog stone, sea shells, feathers and candles.  After exchanging their rings, guests were invited to walk around the spiral to the centre of the maze to present Jo & Ali with wild flowers.  In the evening, the Hilarium was filled with music by the 3 Daft Monkeys, a well known acoustic band.
