Wick Farm Weddings – Lizzie & Baz

So Chris dropped me off at Lizzie’s house and then went down the pub with Baz & the groom’s party, ummm, I think I drew the short straw. However, I was more than happy to share in the bridal prep. excitement. Lizzie’s gown was beautiful: a backless, Stella York gown with fitted lace bodice and flowy tulle skirt and court train. After a few photos in the garden with a couple of ‘ornamental’ pigs grazing on the lawn, we were off to the church in Corsham. Chris managed to prize the groom away from the pub to take a couple of photos in front of a period house (used for filming in Poldark apparently). After an emotional church ceremony, Lizzie & Baz exited to the celebratory peal of church bells. The little pageboys were none too amused, covering up their little ears because it was far too loud…. and the Corsham Hall peacock decided to pipe up too! Onto Wick Farm, Bath, a venue we had photographed before but this time we were blessed with blue skies rather than torrential rain. The couple had plenty of time to enjoy drinks with their guests and then we scooted off down the lane for some couple photos stopping at the beautiful old farmhouse which was adorned with pink roses. We also used the barn photographing the old tractor in the background for good measure. With the FA Cup Final & Rugby Final being played, there was lots of friendly banter between friends. Paul, the groom’s father was a keen supporter of Bath Rugby and even donned a cap during the speeches in support of this side. Fancy planning your wedding for the day of the final of the rugby, nobody seemed to think Bath would reach the final!

Cake, cake and more cake: two cakes kindly provided by her friends, Bryony Wadkin-Snaith and Catherine Lloyd. The tiered macaroons were amazing and very, very tasty, the Raspberry Lemon Curd being my favourite. Bath Cake Company provided a nude cake, decorated with berries. Catering was supplied by Strawberry Field Catering who always provide a great quality of service. Bunting supplied by Vintage Marquees.
