As all Bristolians will know, Bristol was home to 60 life-sized gorilla statues which were painted by local artists as part of Bristol Zoo’s 175th birthday celebrations. This photo shows our favourite gorilla, ‘Gorisambard’ on the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Gorisambard was modelled on Isambard Kingdom Brunel and was the highest selling statue, going for £23,000, unfortunately not bought by us! This public art trail was enjoyed by many visitors and £427,000 was raised for charity.
