Debbie & Matt had their hearts set on a colourful, autumnal wedding and rather than opt for a church, they decided on Westonbirt Arboretum as their perfect backdrop.  It was great fun watching the girls getting ready, Debbie & Eunice particularly were in high spirits and the colour scheme was fab (check out Debbie’s ‘Irregular Choice’ shoes & Eunice’s mango coloured dress!)  Sticking with the autumnal theme, the bouquets by ‘Oops a Daisy’ contained Mango Calla Lilies, Anastasia Roses & Cherry Brandy Roses.  Debbie had attached a blue brooch to the bouquet, to remember her Grandmother by.  We love photographing weddings in the Great Oak Hall, whilst Chris has the opportunity of photographing the exchanging of the rings etc. I am tucked away on the balcony upstairs getting some great photos as the ceremony unfolds.  We had a real déjà vu moment when we arrived: we were greeted by Sue, the wedding host for the day who looked very familiar.  Sue was the bride’s mother from Sian & David’s wedding which we had photographed only a few weeks prior.  After the ceremony, Debbie & Matt were keen to explore the grounds so we took them off for a stroll and some quiet time together, just taking relaxed informal photos of them enjoying their day in the wooded environment.  It was then onto the Thames Head Hotel for the reception and the party was in full swing with a roaring log fire, drinks flowing and spirits high.  Debbie & Matt had wanted a very informal wedding, low key, no group photos, lots of fun and laughter and they certainly had a lovely day.  Oh and check out their ‘Lego’ themed wedding cake!   If you are getting married at Westonbirt Arboretum, please contact us for more details about our wedding photography.
