We returned to one of our favourite venues today; Berkeley Castle, steeped in history and local to us. We photographed Katie & Patrick’s engagement shoot in the Castle grounds this Summer and having had a fun time with them then, we knew this would be a great wedding. Katie’s dress had the WOW factor, her Martina Liana tulle gown with Swarovski Crystals was perfect for a big venue. The bridesmaids’ dresses were unique too, designed by bridesmaid Emily: it was lovely to see such originality. Emily’s sister, Sophia Holbrook provided the bouquets featuring purple orchids. It was great to see Katie had booked Leesa Goodway for her makeup on our recommendation, not only does she provide flawless makeup but we also knew she would run on time. The couple held their ceremony in the church beside the Castle and afterwards, all were served Peach Bellini cocktails & canapés on Berkeley’s gun terrace. After they had chatted with their guests, we whisked the couple off for some relaxed photos around the gardens and with a multitude of flowers still in full bloom and the backdrop of the lily pond and fountain, we were spoilt for choice. The theme of their wedding was J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and with elegant table stationery by Archibald Edwards and a fantastic ‘Edwardian London Skyline’ cake from Curtis & Co Cakes, the Great Hall looked amazing.

We were so lucky with the weather and the beautiful flowers were still in full bloom.Beautiful wedding stationery by Archibald Edwards with a unique design and featuring a pen & ink drawing of the Church and Berkeley Castle.Katie looking very happy and relaxed just before she walks down the aisle.Even Patrick was looking relaxed……..…… and then the first glimpse of his beautiful bride, a great shot Chris! After the all important first kiss, comes a fit of giggles.I love this photo Chris took through the choir stall showing the couple having their marriage blessed and whilst Chris was taking that shot, I was taking the photo below from the back of the church.
I had just exited the church and caught the little flower girl sneaking back in just before the bride and groom appeared, such big steps too!Patrick proudly showing off his new shiny wedding ring to his parents. “Do I have to wear this dress…..?”“Peach Bellini anyone?”Great to see the guests taking photos too.We were surprised to see so many flowers in bloom, Berkeley Castle always has such immaculate gardens.
……. and another fit of giggles!A very happy couple, Katie & Patrick were great fun to work with and we thoroughly enjoyed photographing their wedding. When Katie & her bridesmaids requested a photo by the cannons, I wasn’t quite sure what they had planned but I knew it would be a fun shot!
The theme of their wedding was J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan. The Great Hall looked amazing with Archibald Edwards’ beautiful stationery showing Tinker Bell flying through dandelion clocks leaving a trail of seed capsules and fairy dust. The purple orchid flower arrangements and crisp white linen with purple chair sashes, finished the look perfectly. Fantastic ‘Edwardian London Skyline’ cake from Curtis & Co Cakes.Katie & Patrick were keen to have a few evening photos, so we used the imposing gateway….. well it is a Castle, so how could we possibly pass up such a fab location?
