We were back to one of our favourite venues today; Kingscote Barn with its stunning Cotswold views. Dave had placed hand-painted signs on nearby road junctions to guide guests to the barn (we love those personal touches at a wedding). As a landscape gardener for the National Trust, Dave and his bride had opted for a garden theme and the ceremony room was strewn with beautiful, original flower displays by Sorori Design Florists. Guest were also invited to take home a potted home grown herb: thyme, rosemary, basil. Keeping with the gardening theme, Dave had drawn the table plan in the style of a landscape garden design, a very clever idea. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace and whilst Chris photographed the wedding breakfast room, I was outside ‘papping’ guests and enjoyed photographing a fun game of giant Jenga, the loser having to down a Tequila slammer as a penalty (which on witnessing later, didn’t look like too much of a hardship)! During the wedding breakfast, one very surprised guest from each table was nominated as a carver and much to the amusement of fellow guests, had to don a pinny with an amusing, marriage related slogan, our favourite being “The 3 rings of marriage are the engagement ring, the wedding ring and the suffering”. Rosie & Dave broke with traditional and instead of a wedding cake, opted for an Eton Mess dessert decorated with indoor sparklers. Family & friends danced the night away to the band ‘Paradox’ and guests were treated to a spectacular firework display.
