As recommended Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographers, Chris & I love returning to this amazing venue. As we drove down the drive, we were greeted by fields upon fields of yellow oilseed rape, WOW! what a beautiful sight.
Simon had hired an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante for the weekend and it was proudly parked outside Kingscote Barn. Vrooom vrooom that was all I could hear in the morning as the lads sat in the car, sat on the car, looked under the bonnet, stroked the car …. get the idea?
Having two photographers means we can capture the anticipation and excitement of the bridal entrance; Whilst Chris is already in place at the top of the aisle, I stayed with Katy and her bridal party. Then the moment arrives and Katy walked down the aisle, not daring to look at Simon. Nerves, excitement, both? Neither of them looked up and then Katy burst into laughter as she reached the top of the aisle, all caught on camera by Chris. I stayed at the back of the room, focusing on the bigger picture, shooting down the aisle, getting a lovely shot of the bride & groom exchanging their vows.
Guests were catered for by Strawberry Fields Catering and were entertained by Darren Campbell, a total wiz with magic. Leaving the guests in safe hands, we whisked Katy & Simon off to explore to the yellow landscape, we never ask a bride & groom to do something they are uncomfortable with but Katie was in the field before I could say ‘Vanquish’! We love this time with a couple, not only do we get a chance to take stunning photos but the couple can relax, chat together about their day and just enjoy each other’s company. This is the first time they are alone (ok, we’re there too but we don’t count that!) without any guests milling around so it is a great opportunity for us to just take relaxed shots and for them to just enjoy some quiet time together.
Katy is an Interior Stylist so I knew the reception room would look amazing and it didn’t disappoint, you can’t beat the magic of candles (magic not provided by Darren on this occasion!) and with a fantastic cake by Contemporary Cake Designs, a Cheese Cake for the evening and Ice Cream at the push of a button, everyone was very happy. The evening celebrations were topped off with sparklers, more magic!
What an amazing response from Katy & Simon “Gillian and Chris photographed our wedding at Kingscote Barn in April 2017. It was brilliant having two photographers to capture our special day as Gillian was with me whilst I was getting ready and Chris was with Simon and the other groomsmen.
