Kingscote Barn is one of our favourite venues: local for us and it was great to be asked to photograph Sonia & Adam’s wedding. I joined the girls getting ready in Spring Cottage, reached by quite a steep decline, not always easy to negotiate in a pair of stilettos but it always makes a great photo! The bride’s makeup was applied perfectly by Eleanor from Le Glow, Beautiful Brides. Sonia walked down the aisle accompanied by her Mother, Gena. With the bridesmaids dressed in purple and her Mum in red, it was lovely to see such a colourful wedding. With family & friends from Portugal, Sonia & Adam decided to have the readings in both English and Portuguese; one of the readings being ‘An Apache Wedding Blessing’ which we hadn’t heard before. After the ceremony, Sonia & Adam were keen to make use of the terrace outside to capitalise on the amazing views, after all, this is often why couples book Kingscote Barn as their wedding venue. The couple and their guests lit up a few packets of sparklers for the evening which was great fun to photograph. Why do guests love sparklers? I think because it takes them all back to their childhoods. The twinkling pergola also looked very pretty for a few evening photos.
“Many thanks for the photos. We love them all and it was really difficult to choose so few for the album. Thank you for documenting the day so well and for the photo of Adam catching a glimpse of me for the first time, it is definitely one of my favourites. Thank you for letting Libby tag along to take photos of her own, I am sure she will want to do it as a career later! Thank you for putting up with us while we discussed things over that 8 hour time difference and Gillian, thank you for making sure the dress was laced up perfectly. Thank you in advance for the perfect album we will have to wait until August to see. Thank you for everything.” Adam & Sonia.
