Manor by the Lake – Roxanne & Sammy’s Wedding

This was our first wedding at the Manor by the Lake and we were blown away by it: beautiful gardens, amazing reception rooms, huge bridal suite and the staff were helpful and friendly.  With such a large, lively bridal party, we knew this wedding would be fun.

After saying ‘Hi’ to Roxanne, I packed Chris off to photograph Sammy and shadow the groom’s party. I was out on the balcony with the flowergirls when I spotted Chris photographing the groom’s party below, never liking to miss an opportunity, I took a picture at the same time capturing this moment. Two great perspectives. The flower girls were so cute and with so much room in the bridal suite, I was spoilt for choice on where to take their photos; should I use the chaise longue, the bed, the mirrors? No: the girls wanted to sit on the floor! Roxy looked beautiful in her bespoke Mikaella gown, the fit & flare dress had been hand beaded by Clifton Bridal and Sammy looked pretty dapper too in his navy & white polka dot combo.

The couple had hoped for an outside ceremony but sadly the rain put paid to that idea. After the ceremony, we saw a few minutes of fine weather so lots of confetti and a large group photo ensued, this time I paid Chris danger money and stuck him out on the balcony and I stayed put on terra firma! More rain so some inside shots in the Rock Bar and then we whisked Roxy and Sam out for a walk around the beautiful gardens towards the lake and bridge. The avenue of topiary bushes provided a perfect backdrop for our photos, we took some stunning shots of the couple just chatting, walking and having some quiet time together. Later in the day, after some alcohol had been consumed, the topiary bushes were put to good use again, this time by the whole bridal party dashing from one side of the avenue to the other, which caused a lot of laughter, spilt drinks and a few lost stilettos!

One highlight of the day for us was when The Swinging Rascals surprised all the guests by appearing during the wedding reception and singing “Can’t Take my Eyes Off of You” firstly to Sammy and then to Roxy. A great way to get the party started & we especially loved their rendition of Shirley Bassey’s “Hey Big Spender” complete with red feather boa which was happily modelled by Danny, great shot!

Great review from Roxy & Sammy: ”Selecting a photographer for your wedding day is one of the most important decisions you have to make and with there being so much choice it is one of the hardest decisions. We got married at Manor By The Lake on 27th April 2017 and I could not recommend Gillian and Chris highly enough! They were absolutely amazing on the run up to the day and on the day. They are lovely people and fantastic photographers. The photos they captured are beautiful and everyone has commented on how great they are. We are so glad we chose Callisto Photography to do our wedding photos. Mr and Mrs Lippiatt x”
