Great Tythe Barn Wedding – Jess & Jonny

Great Tythe Barn Wedding Photographer – Being Jess & Jonny’s Great Tythe Barn Wedding Photographers was always going to be great fun. Jess and I ‘got’ each others’ sense of humour straight away and everytime I visited her Total Look Hair Salon, we chatted about her wedding so I was over the moon when she asked us to be her photographers.

Great Tythe Barn Wedding

I think that every bride should own their own hair salon; the lighting was great for hair & makeup & everything was to hand: grips, hairspray, clips and straighteners galore. A quick bridal party wander along the High Street brought the traffic to a standstill. Why? Is it not normal for girls to wander around Chipping Sodbury High Street in dressing gowns and slippers so early on a Sunday morning? Chris was already at the church when Jonny arrived and having such young flowergirls and pageboys meant a beautifully chaotic entrance as Jonny decided to greet each child individually as they walked down the aisle which meant he missed his bride’s big entrance! Unfortunately, Chris couldn’t get a clear shot of the bride & groom due to lack of space and the vicar’s rules, so respecting the wishes of the church I surreptitiously crept (practically crawled) around the side of the pews to get some great shots. Nobody even knew I was there.

We were then off for celebrations at the Great Tythe Barn. Jess kept saying that she and Jonny were not romantic whatsoever so we thought by whisking them off around the gardens where it was quiet and away from the other guests, we might persude them to have a romantic clinch (ok hold hands) and after chatting and relaxing, we got some great photos of the happy couple. Jess & Jonny had requested a group photo with the flowergirls & pageboys which was a challenge but quite often, the pics where the children are ‘not playing ball’ are the best shots.

Christian Fletcher, one amazing magician, entertained the guests and their facial expressions were a picture: stunned, shocked, laughter, disbelief, puzzlement together with the usual shrieks of “how on earth did he do that?” Jonny was adamant that they weren’t going to have a first dance (again, not romantic) but when Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ started to play, he took to the dance floor and invited a shocked Jess to join him.

DJ Matt (The Wedding Players) and Reggae Matic got everyone up on the dance floor busting some moves, the place was a buzzing! Wanting to capitalise on the beautiful sunset over Tetbury, we asked the ‘unromantic’ couple if they fancied some photos and their answer was yes! Job gone, romantic shots were plentiful… arrrhhhh result!

What a lovely review from Jess & Jonny Absolutely amazing at what they do, Gillian and Chris did exactly what we asked, such fun people to be around!  Would highly recommend!  Thank you both so much, can’t stop looking through the photos!! xxx”
