The Bay Tree Wedding Photographers – Rachel & Neil

MARCH! Can someone please tell this weather that it is March and we are all waiting for Spring to arrive!  Heavy snow was forecast so we decided to follow the boy scout motto and ‘be prepared’ so we opted to take the 4×4 and bump along the country lanes to Burford.  We had our wellies, blanket, flask of whisky (sorry that should say hot drink) and shovel ready for action but we were greeted by an icing sugar dusting of snow, how disappointing.

We love weddings at The Bay Tree, a beautiful 16th Century Inn set in the Cotswold and were looking forward to snapping Rachel & Neil’s big day.

Rachel looked beautiful in a lace bridal gown by the English Designer, Kate Sherford.  For warmth, Rachel opted for a lace bolero, maybe a duffle coat would have been more appropriate?  Or maybe she should have borrowed her Dad’s pink jacket…..  wait till you see the photos below!

The exchanging of the rings was quite amusing, neither ring would go on smoothly, always a tense but funny moment at a wedding.  After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed drinks in the conservatory until we had the bright idea of getting everyone outside for a large group photo.  We thought it might take some time to get all the guests assembled outside but no, with chilly north easterly winds, the guest were very co-operative, smiling on cue, photo taken in trice and then there was the scrum to get back through the door to the warmth of the log fires.  The beauty of The Bay Tree is that there are so many nooks and crannies for photos and rather than risk Rachel & Neil catching frostbite, we took the majority of the photos inside by the lovely oak staircase and fires.  Everyone had a great time, including us.

Thankfully, the ‘lucky brolly’ wasn’t needed during the day as the heavy snow didn’t materalise.

Such a simple but beautiful shot.I saw Chris lying down on the floor taking this photo, I thought he was having a nap at first…….Great jacket!

One very proud mother.Always a tense moment, will the ring go on smoothly or not, in this case it didn’t!I wonder if the guest will recognise her hands?Taken just before everyone started to turn a lovely shade of blue.I love this photo as it captures Rachel so well, a very relaxed and  happy bride. There is something about the groom arranging the bride’s dress.  I’m not sure what it is but it always makes me smile and such a great photo.  Maybe because they are out of their comfort zone?A quick warm by the fire, The Bay Tree has lots of nooks and crannies including the beautiful staircase below.Caught you!!Now then……  are we are on here….. this could be embarrassing.I love a good bear hug, as does Cheryl, Neil’s new sister-in-law.A Kate Sherford gown, it looked perfect on Rachel.

If you are having a wedding at The Bay Tree, we’d love to hear from you.  You can see more Cotswold Weddings on our website and blog as well as more weddings throughout Gloucestershire.
